100 Things About Me

Yes folks, this is a list of 100 things about me. Apparently the "it" item to have on your blog is a list such as this. You may be wondering where I get the time to compile a list like this-well, my kids are great sleepers. I know I could be doing a million other things than coming up with these things, but I want my boys to read this one day and learn a thing or two about their mom. So, here goes....

1. I have a wonderful, smart, and funny husband.
2. I have one adorable, hilarious toddler-aged son, and two sweet and cuddly infant twin boys.
3. My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip, but in college I once ate a whole pint of Ben and Jerry's Peanut Butter Cup in one sitting and didn't get sick (I may have gained 5 lbs though).
4. My favorite colors are pink and green together.
5. I'm a runner.
6. In college I wanted to be a pediatrician.
7. I became a teacher instead.
8. I have a sweet 7 year old golden retriever named Bailey. I fell in love with her the minute I saw her.
9. I drive a Honda Odyssey minivan, even though I swore I'd never be caught dead in one.
10. My first car was a VW rabbit.
11. My parents are still married.
12. I played on the tennis team in high school.
13. My favorite food is Nutella, with peanut butter coming in a close 2nd.
14. I can't drive a standard car, even though several people have tried to teach me.
15. I've never smoked.
16. My sister and I had our babies on the same day-her first and my twin boys (2-12-07 and it wasn't planned that way)
17. I'm afraid of driving over bridges, but not afraid of riding over them.
18. I've traveled to the Cayman Islands, Jamaica and Mexico.
19. I really, really want to go to Italy.
20. My most unforgettable dinner was a surprise anniversary trip to the Inn at Little Washington in Washington, VA. I still dream about the dessert "Seven Deadly Sins".
21. I believe the most useful skill I learned in high school was typing.
22. I'm a lightening fast reader. I've been known to finish a novel in one day.
23. I can't go to bed without washing my face. I have a very rigid routine that people make fun of me about.
24. When I was little, I was mistaken for a boy while shopping in a store with my grandma. It has scarred me so much that I may never have short hair.
25. I have never broken any bones.
26. I was teaching in a classroom on 9/11/2001 in the D.C. suburb of Fairfax, VA.
27. My dream is to start my own photography business.
28. I was born in South Carolina.
29. I graduated from Clemson University. Go Tigers!
30. I hate driving at night because I don't see well.
31. I like reading celebrity gossip, hence my subscription to US Weekly. It's my guilty pleasure. My husband makes fun of me for it. I especially like the section "Stars, they're just like us".
32. The smell of honeysuckle and salt air makes me happy.
33. I love to cook and entertain for people.
34. I always wear my seatbelt. It makes me anxious when others don't.
35. I was a neatfreak when I was little. I can't stand clutter and am constantly putting things in places to the point where I or no one else can find them.
36. I consider myself a type A personality.
37. I am extremely clumsy.
38. I sleep on my stomach with my arms tucked in.
39. Poor customer service and rude people irritate me.
40. I love fashion and try to stock my closet with classic pieces that won't go out of style.
41. Jackie O and Lilly Pulitzer are my style icons.
42. I'm a Republican.
43. I was president of my junior class.
44. I served on the student senate at Clemson.
45. I'm a natural red-head and have never colored my hair.
46. My dream car is a Range Rover.
47. I played the flute in middle school, but was terrible at it because I had braces.
48. I took 4 years of spanish but can barely speak it.
49. I want to ride in a hot air balloon over the California wine country.
50. I would love to take sailing lessons and own my own sailboat.
51. My dream neighbors would be Paula Deen and Giada de Laurentis.
52. My idea of relaxation is reading a book on the beach or on a hammock at a beach house.
53. I am very patriotic and love the 4th of July.
54. I would love to take a cooking class at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.
55. I am a magazine junkie.
56. My favorite cocktail is a gin and tonic.
57. I don't like to be touched on my shins or wrist. It makes my skin crawl.
58. I am a food snob as well as a restaurant snob. I don't like spending my money at big chain restaurants.
59. Hotel comforters also make my skin crawl.
60. I really do like Martha Stewart.
61. My idea of a rainy Sunday is watching Food Network in my pj's baking cookies and drinking hot cocoa with my family.
62. I'm addicted to hand cream. My favorite is L'Occitane Shea Butter.
63. I'm obsessed with hair products. I also can't live without my chi flat iron, it straightens like no other, to the point that my husband even notices it.
64. I have a cup of coffee every morning.
65. I can't stand soap operas.
66. I plan on joining the Jr League next year.
67. My goal is to run a marathon by age 35.
68. My favorite vegetables are home grown tomatoes.
69. I am a backseat driver. I got it from my mom who got it from her mom.
70. My dream job was to be a mother. I feel like I have the best job in the world.
71. I love all things monogrammed.
72. I almost quit my teaching job to work at Pottery Barn.
73. I get a lot of my decorating ideas from the Pottery Barn catalog.
74. I want to be P.T.A. president one day.
75. I enjoy a summer thunderstorm.
76. I enjoy making people laugh.
77. My favorite flowers are hydrangeas and peonies.
78. I would rather send a letter than email.
79. I am addicted to stationery.
80. My husband and I have been married for almost 8 years and I'm still madly in love with him.
81. I love watching my husband play with our boys.
82. I do not like reality t.v., but I do love the Hills on MTV. (not sure if it's even a reality show)
83. I failed my driver's test the first time.
84. I really am a careful driver, but have been in two car accidents. Both were my fault and both times the other car wasn't moving.
85. I lived in the D.C. area for 8 years and lived in 4 different houses.
86. I knew I wanted to marry my husband 3 months after meeting him.
87. I always had a feeling, from the time I was a little girl, that I would live in Washington D.C.
88. I am intimidated by cooking a whole chicken or turkey.
89. The best concert I've ever been to was an acoustic Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds concert.
90. Brunch is my favorite meal.
91. I am Catholic and so is my husband.
92. My boys are great sleepers and I am so thankful for that.
93. I hope that one day my son's wives will like me.
94. I detest hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup.
95. My favorite movies are Shag, Life is Beautiful and Steel Magnolias.
96. I was in the Ski Club in high school (snow skiing, that is)
97. I could live on chips, homemade guacamole, and margaritas or fresh bread, artisan cheeses and wine.
98. My favorite beer is Guiness and my favorite wine is Pinot Noir.
99. I try to drink 8 glasses of water everyday. I'm pretty neurotic about it.
100. I try to be a good person.
101. I can't believe I came up with 100 things about myself.

I was putting the boys to bed and I kept thinking of things to put on my list. Hmm...when I get a minute or two I might just take your challenge! BTW, I love to open your blog whenever I am online to listen to your music list. You got some good taste there Lee!
