Grateful Day 4
Today I am grateful for the wonderful healthcare policy that Dan has through his company. We recently found out that Brady's surgery was $18,000 and we didn't pay a dime for it. We only paid $150 for delivery of Harrison as well as the twins. It also covered 100% of the fertility treatments we went through including IUI's (6 of those), IVF (1 of those) and all ultrasounds, testing, monitoring, injectible meds, not to mention the injectibles I was on during pregnancy which cost about $700 a month-for 9 months...I am so grateful that we have really great healthcare because I know there are people that don't have any at all. I think it's a travesty...but that's a discussion for another day.

I know what you mean. The total bill for A's birth and NICU stint was well over $36K -- and we ended up paying next to nothing for it all.
By the way, have you seen that Katie has a new 'do? I don't think I'd ever be *THAT* bold.

I'm with you. We paid nothing for Rachel and only a few hundred for Jake. My sister did not have the same coverage and paid a lot more - and she didn't have the c-section or hospital stay.
I watched some show and in China you have to pay in cash before they'll even do the surgery - emergency or not. This poor Dad was literally running around trying to come up with funds to help his son.
Funny how when we started working, I didn't know a thing about insurance - or care. Now everytime Brian's company is acquired that's my first question - what's the insurance coverage?
That is amazing.
We miss our employer based insurance! The OSU stuff is decent, but nothing like the private sector!!
