Are they twins??
This is a question I get just about everyday when I'm out. Seriously, they are! "But one's bigger than the other". I always respond, "They are not identical, they're fraternal." Soooo, lately I've started dressing them the same, or at least in coordinating outfits. #1 because it's easier and #2 so that people may not state the obvious all the time. Also, for some reason because Jack is smaller, people often assume he is a girl. He looks nothing like a girl, but a lot of people assume the boy/girl twin thing. Anyway, here are some pictures from the other day. The boys were being silly and they were dressed the same...so I thought I'd share.

Maybe I'm a little crazy...
So this morning my girlfriend and I took her little girl and my 3 boys to the Children's museum and out to lunch afterwards. Brady and Jack do very well hanging out in the stroller in the museum until we get to the play room. Then I take them out to crawl around and they love it. I don't know what I'll do when Harrison is obviously too old for that room...but that's for another day. We then took the kids (and ourselves) out to lunch at Five Loaves. It was so good, but I couldn't help but feel the stares as we were eating. The kids were very well-behaved, as well-behaved as could be with busy little hands...but people love to watch us in action. I guess I'm getting used to it, one lady even asked as I was leaving.."why do you do this to yourself?" I said, "I guess I'm just a little crazy"... But really, I do it because my kids need to be taught how to eat in a restaurant and behave in public. I do it because I need a lunch out every now and then. I do it to feel normal and socialize with my friends and to teach my boys to be little "gentlemen".
In other news, we may be planning a little weekend to Vegas soon. Just some tentative planning in the works. Dan has been a couple of times for work, I just want to go for my birthday....just to go. Maybe see a show and eat some good food. This is where I'd like to stay....The Venetian. I know some of you have recently gone. Any suggestions?

Just venting...
OK, I'm just venting here...so just a warning. Whenever the boys and I or the whole family go anywhere in public we get a lot of stares, comments, compliments, etc. People think just because you have twins you need a comment. And I know that some people are just curious or trying to be nice. I'm not talking about these people. It's funny how no one really looks at the twins as individual babies right now...when they see them usually the first thing people say is "Wow, they are so cute...my, you must have your hands full!" It's the "hands full" comment that really gets me. Really? Duh? Do you think? What makes a stranger think they can tell me that? It's just starting to get old...because I hear it 15,000 times a day...
See, I told you....nothing to exciting to post today. Brady and Jack have developed a separation anxiety and a little jealousy when I'm holding one and not the other. Maybe if I had octopus arms I could hold all three boys...now wouldn't that be nice?
Otherwise, just a typical day at home. I must have a lot of time on my hands (boys are napping, I should be cleaning) but instead I'm researching training for a marathon and Paula Deen recipes...now that makes a whole lot of sense, doesn't it?

excuse me?...did you really just ask me that?
Last week the family headed to the Farmer's Market for a nice dinner outside to listen to music and enjoy the nice weather we WERE having. We, of course, got lots of stares and questions about the twins and even met a couple with twin girls who were the same age as the boys (she also shared with me that she was 13 weeks pregnant with their 3rd-YIKES!) Anyhoo.....we were eating our dinner of crepes (me), quesadillas (Harrison), and b-b-q (Dan), when a pleasant woman sat down at our table and proceeded to ask lots of questions. Then she got to the dreaded one....did you go through fertility treatments to have them? Now most of my friends know that I am very open about my whole fertility process in hopes of helping someone else who might be going through it...but a complete stranger, not so much. It's amazing how many complete strangers ask me this. It's really not an appropriate question to ask someone you don't know. I always reply with..."twins run in my family". My mom has two sets on her side. I surely wouldn't ask someone with one child how they conceived their children....

The best compliment...
First of all, the owners of the store were so helpful. He saw me headed in the store-with the double stroller and Harrison holding on to it-and put down his stuff to hold the door open for me. He pointed me in the right direction and helped me with any request I had. I LOVE great customer service-it seems few and far between these days.
Anyway, he gave me one of the best compliments a mom can get. As we were walking through the store he stopped me and said, "Mam, I just have to tell you this. Your child is one of the most well-behaved children I've ever come in contact with. Normally children his age are running wild in this store, but he is listening to you and walking right next to you". He didn't have to tell me that, but he did. I must admit, I was pretty surprised at how well-behaved he was being with all of the pinatas, balloons, and streamers hanging from the ceiling.
My baby is growing up! Actually all of my babies are growing so fast. I'm treasuring this time when they are small because I know one day it will pass in an instant. Anyway, I still can't believe that my "baby boy" Harrison will be 3 next week. He is becoming such a little man! With that I'll leave you with some pics of the boys.
Sweet Baby Brady
Big Boy Harrison
