Is it really worth the extra $$$?
My birthday is in a month and Dan asked me a couple of days ago what I wanted. I really want a bike trailer for our bikes so the twins can ride in the back when we go on family rides. Dan and I got hybrid bikes several years ago and used to ride all the time on the W & OD Trails when we lived in VA. Now that Harrison is in to his bike, I'd like to go for family rides again. I don't need a major expensive one. In fact, the one that will suit me fine is the Instep one on amazon.com for $86 including shipping! I saw this Burley one on REI.com for $550! YIKES! I don't need one like that, do I? Is there really a difference? Does anyone out there have the Instep one (or cheaper one) or the more expensive one?? Let me know your thoughts (if you have any...)

We have the InStep one. It wasn't the $86 one, it is one that was more middle of the road, like $200. We had neighbors in the old neighborhood that had the Burley one. We looked at both and decided for what we use it for, the InStep one was perfect. We have had it now for 3 years and use it regularly, but not every week. Both R and I have been really, really pleased, and it is still in great shape!
I would say get the Instep one. I can't imagine that you'll be doing the sort of biking that would necessitate a much cushier ride, especially with Harrison riding his bike.
But that's just me...I'm cheap like that!
We have the Instep- bought it at Target for $99, and it has been great. I would get the Instep!
I would think it would depend on how much you will actually use it. We got one about a year ago. We got it from a bike shop and had to choose between one under a 100$ and one that was about 250$. The guy talked us into the more expensive one due to some safety reasons.
Looking back, we probably could have gotten the cheaper b/c we really don't use it that much, and when we do it is only in our safe neighborhood!
