Calling all Redheads...

I saw a segment on the Today Show this morning saying that redheads may become extinct in the next 100 years and that redheads should reproduce in mad numbers to "save" the redheads. Well, my "reproducing" days are over, but how sad would it be if this really happens? I've had red hair since birth. I "hated" it when I was little because of the names, carrot top, etc, but now I LOVE it. Unfortunately the older I get, the darker it gets, but it is still red and my biggest savior is that it doesn't have a drop of color on it!! I found this story on the web...

Redhead Story

Now, I've tried my hardest to create redheaded children, but it looks as though they will be brown or blond. Sometimes if you look really hard, especially in the sun, Jack's hair looks a little red. Here's hoping....SAVE THE REDHEADS!!!

DH has light brown, I have dark brown, and DD has a reddish shade-she's strawberry blond! I love it and she gets compliments on her hair all of the time! I wonder if we will produce a red head this time too?

I'd be sad if the redheads were extinct. Some of my earliest "loves" were redheads!

I'm jealous that you haven't had to color your hair. What started as a fun fling with highlights has turned into a necessary exercise in gray-coverings!

I was driving in the Target parking lot today and saw a redhead family - mom , preschooler daughter, and toddler son. They had almost the same coloring as you. Made me smile. Also Jake has become smitten with Becky, the redheaded member of the Mandy and Jenny doll group. Hopefully he'll be able to find a real redhead someday. I swear all boys go through a redhead phase, even Charlie Brown. LOVE your hair SM.

My mom had the most unbelievable red hair most of her life. When she went through treatments for cancer a few years back she lost all of her hair and when it grew back....almost brown. She was devastated. Luckily, I have an 12 year old brother (WEIRD, I know!) and he has the brightest red hair I have EVER seen in my life. I, on the other hand, have white hair. The chromosomes were confused somewhere!

I used to hate my red hair when I was little too, but now I love it. My son has just a tint of red - oh well! I think I might have to color for the first time this year. How sad :(

OMG- I have a reddish brown one, a chocolate brown one and my last baby came out flaming red. What a surprise! Especially since I have such brown hair. But, we just learned that it must come from both sides of the family in order to get passed on. I think we've figured out where it came from on my side and we knew it ran rampant on hubbys side. My Redfish doesn't seem to be losing his. I pray, pray, pray he doesn't. It's like wearing a sequined dress out in public. So many, many comments...

PS- we were sorority sisters at Clemson! :)
